Mohawk Medbuy Welcomes Georgian Bay General Hospital as Newest Member
The regional and community hospitals are part of a growing transition to the not-for-profit shared services organization
Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is pleased to announce that Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) has joined them as their 50th Member organization. GBGH will be adopting MMC’s Accounts Payable (AP) Services – a sophisticated, centralized platform that processes more than $2 billion of spend on behalf of numerous Ontario hospitals.
This continues the significant growth of MMC, which has seen 27 new organizations join them over the past two years across health care and other sectors – along with many non-acute care providers that have onboarded their popular OHTconnect Program for Ontario Health Teams.
GBGH is a 113-bed community hospital in Midland, Ontario offering emergency, ambulatory, acute, intensive and complex continuing care, as well as imaging, dialysis, obstetrical and rehabilitation services. The hospital serves the areas of Midland, Penetanguishene, Christian Island as well as Tay, Tiny, Springwater and Georgian Bay Townships.
Mohawk Medbuy’s AP system offers the organization numerous benefits, starting with rapid integration, scalable invoice processing capabilities and substantial operational and cost efficiencies. MMC is on track to generate more than $1 million of bottom-line savings for its AP Members this year, which they can redirect to patient care priorities.
“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Georgian Bay General Hospital to our growing Membership,“ said Tony DiEmanuele, President and CEO of MMC. “Our award-winning Accounts Payable service is a proven system that will provide GBGH with streamlined, cost-effective invoice processing and payment – along with advanced analytics that support greater working capital for their operations.”
“Entrusting our Accounts Payable to Mohawk Medbuy’s system and expertise was an easy decision for us,” said Gail Hunt, CEO of GBGH. “Implementing best practices throughout all areas of our hospital is a priority, and we look forward to the value this will bring to our financial management.”
