Mohawk Medbuy Welcomes Clearpoint Health Network as Newest Member

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is pleased to welcome Clearpoint Health Network (CHN) as a new Member. This continues the significant growth of MMC, which has seen more than 25 organizations join them over the past two years across health care and other sectors. That’s in addition to a rapidly growing number of participants in MMC’s successful OHTconnect Program for Ontario Health Teams.

Clearpoint is Canada’s largest network of independent surgical and medical centres with locations in Toronto, Mississauga, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver. Specializing in orthopedic, spine, ENT, bariatric and general surgery, the network has stepped up over the past year to support hospitals that have had to suspend elective surgeries due to COVID-related capacity constraints. As a Mohawk Medbuy Member, CHN will now have access to MMC’s comprehensive range of contracts for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical drugs and capital equipment.

“Our collaborative, inclusive approach is key to creating value for the health sector,” according MMC President and CEO, Tony DiEmanuele. “The addition of Clearpoint Health Network increases the scale of our procurements and the collective buying power we have to negotiate better outcomes. That benefits all the hospitals and health care providers that MMC supports.”

“We’re responding to request from governments across Canada to provide provincially-funded procedures to assist in wait list management in our communities,” said Dr. Chris Cobourn, CEO of Clearpoint Health Network. “By taking advantage of Mohawk Medbuy’s extensive list of contracts, we can be sure we’re purchasing high quality products and services at the best price. Those savings help the provinces in their funding of patient care.”
