A Collaborative Distribution Initiative universal

As announced in September 2017, Mohawk Medbuy Corporation and Plexxus have established an agreement to consolidate distribution operations. This was initiated to provide greater value to our Members and Customers. Through this collaboration, both organizations will have an efficient, scalable platform that will leverage distribution as a key component of integrated supply chain services.

Hospital Logistics Inc. (HLI), is the jointly owned entity that will have ownership of inventory and will purchase products from suppliers and distribute to the Plexxus and Mohawk Medbuy hospitals through its Distribution Centre located at 2189 Speers Road in Oakville, Ontario.

Plexxus will have responsibility to manage all DC operations.

HLI will begin to purchase inventory in advance of the transition of the Mohawk Medbuy Hospitals to the HLI Distribution Centre, which is targeted to begin in April 2018 and is expected to be completed in the fall.

The following functions will continue to be the individual responsibility of Mohawk Medbuy and Plexxus for their respective customers:

  • Sourcing & Strategic Sourcing

  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Information Technology for ordering of products by hospitals (Cart Scanning)
