Health Association Nova Scotia Becomes Mohawk Medbuy’s Newest Member
Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) is pleased to announce that Health Association Nova Scotia (HANS) has become our newest Member. HANS is a not-for-profit, member-based organization supporting the entire continuum of care through its work with its member organizations which include Nova Scotia Health, the province’s licensed nursing homes, home care agencies, the disability support program sector, and other organizations including the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) sector. HANS joins the large and growing number of hospitals and health care providers benefiting from MMC’s comprehensive supply chain solutions and not-for-profit, shared services model.
The agreement gives HANS access to MMC’s significant contract portfolio of medical/surgical products, pharmaceuticals, and capital equipment, as well as its Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) services for new building projects. MMC conducts some of the country’s largest sourcing initiatives on behalf of hundreds of Canadian hospitals and other care providers. It’s also a leader in advanced data and analytics that drive supply chain efficiency and help mitigate the impact of manufacturer supply disruptions.
“MMC has long-standing relationships with Service New Brunswick, Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network and Health PEI – as well as Nova Scotia Health Authority for capital equipment. So, we’re very pleased to increase our presence in Eastern Canada and begin collaborating with Health Association Nova Scotia,” said Peter Longo, MMC’s Chief Operating Officer. “As two not-for-profit, shared services organizations focused on health care, we have a great deal in common to build on.”
Mohawk Medbuy’s supply chain services are used by approximately 90% of Ontario hospitals, as well as 100% of the acute care facilities in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. MMC also serves more than 50 child welfare agencies in Ontario. As a Member, HANS will have access to MMC’s large-scale contracts and the substantial savings and value they offer.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with MMC, as it will deliver significant value to our members across the province by providing essential support for their procurement needs. With MMC’s expertise in FF&E and their negotiating buying power with well-known suppliers, we can help our members achieve significant savings while addressing both current requirements and the demands of existing and new builds. Together, we’ll streamline procurement processes, making it easier for our members to focus on delivering quality care” said Sarah Strickland, Senior Operations Manager, igility/HANS.
