Mohawk Medbuy Welcomes Collingwood General and Marine Hospital as Newest Member to join Accounts Payable Services

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is pleased to announce Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) as our newest Member, with their transition to our Accounts Payable Services. This continues the significant growth of MMC, which provides various services across health care and other sectors through a collaborative, not-for-profit, shared services model. MMC’s sophisticated, centralized Accounts Payable platform processes 320,000+ invoices annually for numerous Ontario hospitals – representing more than $2 billion spend.

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital serves Ontario’s Georgian Triangle, which encompasses Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township and The Blue Mountains. CGMH’s 74-bed facility is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic services including lab, imaging and cardio respiratory therapy, as well as two inpatient units (medicine and surgery). CGMH also provides care in speciality areas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care and surgery. In addition, the Hospital provides outpatient care, including dialysis and a wide range of clinics for mental health, rehabilitation services and an integrated orthopaedic centre for the region.

MMC’s proven Accounts Payable service uses an automated, cloud platform for streamlined, cost-effective invoice capture, processing, and payment. The ERP-agnostic system will support CGMH’s workflows with enhanced business controls, including automated segregation of duties for process security. Its advanced analytics also offer optimized AP-related cash management. As a Mohawk Medbuy Member, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital will benefit from aggregating volumes with other hospitals and the innovation and leading practices of MMC’s AP service.

“Collaborating with these types of shared services supports creates value for our organization and the the broader health sector through economies of scale,” according to CGMH Vice President, Corporate Services,CFO and CIO, Michael Lacroix. “The technology available to us under MMC’s program strengthens our financial system and controls in ways that we couldn’t do on our own. These efficiencies and insights benefit all the hospitals and health care providers that MMC supports.”
