Mohawk Medbuy Part of New Ontario ICU Drug Task Force Publication

During this global pandemic, urgent strategies to alleviate drug shortages are essential. Evaluation of the feasibility, practicality, and value of drug conservations and alternatives required a collaborative approach at the provincial level.

The Ontario COVID-19 ICU Drug Task Force was established to create recommendations on conservation strategies and therapeutic alternatives for essential drugs at risk of shortage in the intensive care unit during the pandemic.

Mohawk Medbuy has been an active participant on this Task Force since the beginning of this crisis. As such, we are pleased to announce the publication of a special article which outlines strategic measures for essential drugs that are commonly used in the care of critically ill patients.

“Drug shortages are a national problem and this article proactively addresses these issues during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Ally Dhalla, Vice President of Pharmacy Services at Mohawk Medbuy and an integral member of the Task Force. “Armed with this valuable information, hospitals can continue to provide exemplary patient care at the front line.”
