Brockville General the Latest Hospital Transitioning to MMC’s Pharmacy Program

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is pleased to announce that Brockville General Hospital will be transitioning to our industry-leading Pharmacy program. The Eastern Ontario hospital is the latest health care facility to move to MMC’s not-for-profit, shared services model and benefit from the tremendous value our organization brings to Canada’s health care supply chain.

Over the past year, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Halton Healthcare, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Sinai Health and The Ottawa Hospital have moved their sourcing and contract management of pharmaceutical products to MMC. Brockville General, like almost 90% of Ontario hospitals and 100% of the acute care centres in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, already entrusts MMC to source its medical / surgical products, capital equipment and other services.

“We look forward to supporting Brockville General Hospital’s delivery of quality patient care as their Pharmacy partner,” said Ally Dhalla, MMC’s Senior Vice President, Pharmacy and Clinical Services & Innovation. “In addition to the clinical and supply chain expertise of our Pharmacy Team, MMC also brings innovative programs like MitigAID, which provides valuable support in the event of a supply disruption.”

MMC’s large-scale contracts unify our Member hospitals’ collective need for essential drugs. By consolidating pharmaceutical procurement and leveraging some of Canada’s largest contract volumes, MMC generates much-needed savings for hospitals.

“MMC’s service model, contract portfolio and value-added programs are very well-suited to the needs of our Pharmacy Team,” said Julie Caffin, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Brockville General Hospital. “Strategically aligning our procurement needs with MMC hospitals across Ontario is crucial to building a resilient health care supply chain and ensuring we have the medications our patients need.”
